Calathea Compact Star, aka Zebra Plant Compact Star, is very appropriately named. Its lanceolate leaves have beautifully contrasting dark green and light green stripes, connecting to a dark green edging surrounding each leaf. Like most members of the Marantaceae or "Prayer Plant" family, Compact Star has a habit of opening and closing its leaves as day transitions to night.
