Cryptanthus Earth Star, aka Cryptanthus bivittatus, is a distinctive and eye-catching bromeliad native to the rainforests of Brazil. This plant is celebrated for its striking, star-shaped rosette of leaves that lie close to the ground, resembling a star fallen to earth. The leaves are typically stiff and leathery with wavy margins and can display a variety of colours from deep greens and browns to vibrant pinks and reds, often with contrasting stripes or mottling. Earth Stars are small, typically only reaching about 6 inches in both height and spread, making them ideal for terrariums, dish gardens, or as foreground plants in decorative indoor arrangements.
