Spider Plant, scientifically known as Chlorophytum comosum, also sometimes called airplane plant, is a timeless, easy care houseplant loved for its graceful, arching, ribbon like green leaves and playful trailing growth. This classic plant produces long stems with tiny offshoots known as “spiderettes”, which dangle like little ornaments, giving the plant its iconic name. A favourite since the Victorian era, it’s perfect for hanging baskets or shelves, where its cascading form can shine. Beyond its charm, Spider Plants are also known for their air purifying qualities, making them both beautiful and practical. According to a NASA clean air study, spider plants can filter formaldehyde, xylene, and toluene from the air.
